Gold Buffalo - A Better Investment?

by Daniel Wright

As gold prices have steadily increased during the last several years, the average investor has been more likely to put money into gold coins and less likely to keep U.S. dollars. Gold bullion Buffalo coins are attractive and are likely to hold their value well in future years. The continuing fall in the American dollar has encouraged many people to buy gold, contributing to the increase in gold prices. Why have so many people chosen to shift their assets in this manner?

First off, the price of gold has been steadily rising in the past few years. One of the reasons for this rise is the recent approved production of the gold buffalo coins. In years past, investors only had the option to purchase 22-karat pieces for their gold coin investments. One of the reasons is that 24-karat gold is technically "softer" than the 22-karat coins, and it was feared that they couldn't hold up to the rigors of circulation due to the softness.

Well, not any longer! Congress recently approved the production of these beautiful, 24-karat Gold Bullion Buffalo Coins for purchase to the public. The reasoning behind this was that many people were investing their money in foreign precious metals as their gold coins investment.

Secondly, as what was stated previously, the American dollar has been outperformed in the previous few years. With the current instability of the U.S. economy, the markets for housing continue its slumping state. The high Foreclosures from time to time are indeed causing a negative effect on the markets. Today is the best time for people to turn to a more secured investment options similar to the gold buffalo coins.

Another reason, and probably the biggest one, is that we are seeing a major shift in assets of large banks and other foreign markets. It is estimated that China's gold consumption will rise by 17% percent in this year alone! Much of this investment will come in the form of gold coins investment. And, if they venture into the American gold market, they're sure to buy up the gold buffalo coins because of they're gold value.

A final consideration is that, unlike other American currency, it is not possible to manufacture additional gold. When the current supply is gone, there is no more. For example, there will be no production of Gold Bullion Buffalo Coins if there isn't adequate gold supply. As a result, the price and value of gold rises as people diversify by investing in gold coins. You can see that this is a simple case of supply and demand. And if foreign markets follow expectations and continue to purchase gold, the prices will soar!
