American Eagle Gold
The American Eagle gold bullion coin is available in four denominations: $5 (1/10 oz), $10 (1/4 oz.), $25 (1/2 oz.), and $50 (1 oz). The obverse design is based upon the Saint-Gaudens design from the U.S. Double Eagles of 1907-1933.
Uncirculated American Eagles are not sold directly from the Mint to the public. Rather, they are first sold through a network of authorized buyers and secondary distributors. Proof versions, on the other hand, are available to the public directly from the Mint.
